Road guardrails are used to reduce the consequences of vehicles leaving the carriageway or striking roadside hazards. The correct system depends on the road environment, hazard, available space and project requirements.

W-Beam Guardrail

W-beam steel guardrail is commonly used along road edges and medians. Its profile is designed to redirect an impacting vehicle while reducing direct contact with roadside hazards.

Thrie-Beam Guardrail

Thrie-beam systems use a deeper rail profile and may be selected where a different containment or transition arrangement is required.

Median and Roadside Guardrails

Guardrails may be installed along road shoulders, medians, bridge approaches and other locations where vehicle containment is required.

Guardrail Terminals and Transitions

The end of a guardrail system and transitions to rigid barriers require careful treatment. Exposed rigid ends may require an appropriate terminal or impact-protection solution.
