1. Confirm the Latest Approved Drawing

2. Confirm the Work Window and Scope

Review:

• Planned start and finish time.
• Lane or road area affected.
• Access and egress points.
• Work crew and plant requirements.
• Temporary traffic arrangement.

3. Prepare the Equipment Schedule

Match the equipment schedule to the approved layout. Depending on the project, this may include signs, cones, barriers, arrow boards, lighting, TMA vehicles, crash cushions, fencing, or pedestrian-control equipment.

4. Check Vehicle and Operator Readiness

Specialist vehicles should be checked before dispatch. Operators should understand the work-zone sequence, communication method, site contact, and the approved deployment location.

5. Plan the Installation Sequence

Traffic-management equipment should be installed in a controlled sequence so the crew is not exposed unnecessarily while creating the work zone. The sequence should follow the approved arrangement and competent site instructions.

6. Confirm Communication and Escalation

Before work begins, confirm who is responsible for:

• Site supervision.
• Traffic-management changes.
• Emergency response.
• Authority or client communication.
• Equipment replacement.
• Work suspension if conditions become unsafe.

7. Perform a Final Site Walk-Through

Before opening the work area to the construction team, check that the installed layout matches the intended arrangement and that signs are visible, equipment is stable, access is controlled, and no conflicting devices remain.
