Receiving an RTA NOC approval is an important project milestone, but the approval should be handed over to the site team in a controlled way. The approved drawings, conditions, work limits and latest document revisions should be understood before mobilisation begins.

1. Confirm the Approved Document Set

Identify the exact drawings and supporting documents associated with the approval. Remove superseded copies from the active site folder so the team does not accidentally work from an older revision.

2. Review Approval Conditions

Read any conditions, notes or limitations attached to the approval. Highlight items that affect work dates, access, traffic management, equipment, inspection or reinstatement.

3. Brief the Site Team

The project manager, site engineer, traffic-management team and relevant subcontractors should understand the approved scope and limits before work starts. A short documented briefing can prevent changes being made informally on site.

4. Match the Site Setup to the Approved Drawings

Traffic signs, barriers, TMA vehicles, crash cushions and access arrangements should follow the approved project documents. Where conditions on site have changed, the team should review whether the change requires additional coordination or revision.

5. Keep Approval Records Available

Maintain a controlled project file containing the approval, latest drawings, correspondence and any relevant permit references. This helps during inspections, audits and future revisions.

6. Link Approval to the Project Programme

Confirm that mobilisation dates, work windows and subcontractor activities match the approved project sequence. If the project schedule changes materially, review the effect on the approval before proceeding.

7. Record Site Changes

Do not rely on verbal instructions alone. Record significant site changes, revised access arrangements and any new constraints so they can be checked against the approved scope.
