2. Prepare an Equipment Schedule

Remove damaged, faded, unstable or non-functional items before they reach site.

4. Install Advance Warning First

Where applicable, install warning devices in the sequence that protects the crew while the work zone is being built.

5. Verify Position and Visibility

Check every sign and device from the road user’s approach, not only from the work area.

6. Secure Barriers and Signs

Confirm bases, supports, connections and stability are suitable for the location.

7. Check Night Visibility

Test warning lights, reflective surfaces and visibility under actual night conditions where night work is planned.

8. Remove Conflicting Information

Cover or remove signs that contradict the temporary traffic arrangement.

9. Complete a Final Drive-Through

After installation, review the entire approach and work zone to identify confusing or missing elements.

10. Record the Setup

Take photographs and maintain a deployment record for the project file.
