1. Inspect Panels and Connections

Check for loose, damaged or displaced panels and visible movement at joints or fixing points. Small defects can become larger when exposed to repeated wind or site vibration.

2. Review Supports and Stability

Inspect posts, bases, braces and other visible support elements. Look for movement, leaning or changes in the ground around the hoarding line.

3. Check Gates and Access Points

Vehicle and pedestrian gates should open, close and secure correctly. Wind can affect gate alignment, hinges, locks and temporary restraints.

4. Remove Loose Materials

Do not allow unsecured signs, sheets, packaging or temporary materials to remain against the hoarding where they can become airborne or place additional load on the panels.

5. Inspect Public-Facing Edges

Walk the full public side of the hoarding and check for sharp edges, protrusions, gaps or displaced panels that could affect pedestrians or adjacent users.

6. Recheck Signage and Lighting

Confirm that warning signs, project identification and any temporary lighting remain secure and visible after weather changes or site adjustments.

7. Document Significant Defects

Photograph defects, assign responsibility and record the repair status. Urgent defects affecting stability or public access should be escalated immediately within the project team.
