At a development with a shared podium, “deliver to the tower entrance” can describe two different levels. The building pin may lead a driver to the street lobby while the contractor expects the unit at an upper service entrance. Resolve that difference before pricing traffic diversion for AC unit installation or replacement.
Pair the plan view with a level reference
Ask building management to identify the street approach, ramp, receiving level and final plant location. Label the level beside each vehicle or equipment position. Two symbols that overlap on a plan may represent operations vertically separated by the podium.
A simple coordination sketch can show where the delivery changes hands. It is not evidence that a ramp or deck can carry a particular vehicle or crane. Obtain the relevant structural and equipment confirmations from the responsible specialists before relying on a podium option.
Compare what happens at street level
| Proposed route | Question for the project team |
|---|---|
| Vehicle uses a private service ramp | Where can it be received without waiting across the public entrance? |
| Unit transfers at street level | Which vehicle, unloading or lifting activities extend into public space? |
| Different route for removal | How does the old unit reach its collection vehicle? |
If the upper route is unavailable, keep the street alternative marked as unreviewed. A delivery booking based on an internal ramp does not authorise a roadside transfer.
What to send with the enquiry
Provide separate photos of the street entrance and receiving point, the supplier’s confirmed vehicle information, drawing revisions and the planned sequence. Name the person who can verify access at each level. HMJ can use those inputs to scope the road interface. See loading dock height restrictions and RTA permit and ROWPS support for AC works for the related checks.
