1. Walk the Full Boundary

Inspect the entire hoarding line for missing panels, gaps, abrupt changes in alignment or sections that do not match the approved site layout.

2. Check Stability and Fixings

Review visible supports, bases, fixings and joints. Any leaning or loose section should be corrected before handover.

3. Test Gates and Access Points

Confirm that gates open and close correctly, locking arrangements work and vehicle or pedestrian access does not create unsafe conflicts.

4. Review Public-Facing Edges

Check corners, footpath interfaces, nearby traffic areas and any location where members of the public pass close to the hoarding.

5. Confirm Signs and Identification

Required project, warning and access signs should be visible, secure and placed where users can understand them.

6. Record Defects

Prepare a short snag list with photographs and assign responsibility for corrective work before final acceptance.

7. Complete the Handover Record

The final handover pack should include photographs, the inspected area, date, responsible parties and any remaining monitored items.
