Construction Hoarding Installation Handover Checklist Dubai
A construction hoarding system should be formally checked before the installation is treated as complete. The handover should confirm that the boundary is stable, usable and consistent with the planned access and public-interface arrangements.
HMJ Contracting provides construction hoarding and fencing support in Dubai.
1. Walk the Full Hoarding Line
Check the complete boundary for gaps, unexpected changes in alignment, unfinished sections or areas that do not match the agreed site layout.
2. Check Stability and Visible Fixings
Look for leaning panels, loose supports, damaged bases or obvious movement. Any unstable section should be corrected before handover.
3. Review Vehicle and Pedestrian Gates
Confirm that gates open and close correctly, locking arrangements work and access points do not create uncontrolled conflicts with pedestrians or live traffic.
4. Check Public-Facing Edges
Review corners, changes in level, protrusions and gaps. The public side of the hoarding should be free from avoidable hazards.
5. Verify Signage and Identification
Check required warning signs, project identification, gate labels and emergency access information. See the construction hoarding signage guide for additional guidance.
6. Review Visibility
Where the hoarding is close to roads, driveways or pedestrian routes, confirm that it does not create unacceptable blind spots. Night visibility may also need to be reviewed.
7. Record Outstanding Defects
Create a punch list for incomplete work, damaged panels, missing signs or other issues. Assign responsibility and a target closeout date for every item.
8. Take Handover Photographs
Photograph the full boundary, gates, corners and any special interfaces. Keep the record with the project file.
9. Define the Inspection Routine
The handover should state who will inspect and maintain the hoarding after installation. Hoarding condition can change through wind, deliveries and daily site activity.
