Guardrail Repair Handover Checklist Dubai

After damaged guardrail components are repaired or replaced, the completed section should be checked before the work is treated as finished. A handover record helps confirm what was repaired and provides traceability for the project team.

HMJ Contracting supports guardrail installation in Dubai and road-safety barrier works.

1. Confirm the Repair Scope

Compare the completed work with the repair assessment or agreed replacement scope.

2. Check Replaced Rails

Inspect repaired or replaced rail sections for visible damage, incorrect overlap or incomplete connections.

3. Inspect Posts

Check that replaced posts are aligned and that surrounding ground or foundations have been restored appropriately.

4. Review Terminals and Transitions

If the repair affected an end treatment or transition, inspect the full connection rather than only the damaged rail.

5. Check Bolts and Fixings

Look for missing, loose or visibly incorrect fasteners.

6. Review Alignment

View the repaired section along the barrier line and check for obvious unintended offsets.

7. Clear the Work Area

Remove damaged components, packaging, unused fixings and debris from the roadside.

8. Take Handover Photographs

Capture:

  • Overall repaired section
  • Connections
  • Terminals or transitions
  • Ground condition
  • Any remaining defect

9. Record Replaced Components

Keep a simple record of the rail, posts, terminals or other parts replaced.

10. Close Outstanding Actions

Any incomplete item should remain on the handover record until corrected.

A formal repair handover provides a clear endpoint between impact assessment, repair work and return to normal operation.
