3. Inspect the Attenuator

Check the attenuator for:

• Visible impact damage
• Bent or displaced components
• Missing parts
• Damaged reflectors or markings
• Hydraulic or mechanical issues
• Signs of contact with barriers or site equipment

4. Record Any Impact Event

If the TMA was struck during the project, keep the incident record with photographs and any inspection or repair notes.

5. Check Warning Equipment

Confirm the condition of arrow boards, beacons, work lights and other warning devices supplied with the vehicle.

6. Review Accessories

Check any project-specific accessories, cones, signs, radios or additional equipment supplied with the rental.

7. Record Fuel and Operating Condition

Where relevant, note fuel level, mileage or operating hours at return.

8. Remove Project Materials

Make sure the vehicle is free of temporary project materials, waste or unrelated equipment.

9. Prepare Return Photographs

Take clear photographs of:

• Front and rear of vehicle
• Both sides
• Attenuator
• Warning equipment
• Any recorded damage

10. Complete the Handover

Both parties should understand any outstanding repair, cleaning or documentation requirements before the rental is formally closed.
