Traffic Management Plan Phase Change Checklist Dubai
Many road and infrastructure projects move through several work phases. Each phase can change lane use, access points, signs, barriers, pedestrian routes and equipment positions. Before a new phase starts, the traffic-management plan should be checked against the next live arrangement.
HMJ Contracting prepares and supports traffic management plans in Dubai.
1. Confirm the New Phase Scope
Define what changes from the current phase to the next one.
2. Review Work Limits
Check whether the active work area, closure limits or access points move.
3. Verify Lane Arrangement
Confirm which lanes remain open and whether merge or diversion points change.
4. Review Signs
Update temporary warning and direction signs so they match the new phase.
5. Check Barriers and Delineation
Review barrier lines, cones and delineators against the revised layout.
6. Confirm TMA and Protection Positions
Any TMA or impact-protection location should match the new work activity.
7. Review Pedestrian Routes
If walkways or crossings change, update the pedestrian arrangement before switching phases.
8. Update Access and Deliveries
Construction gates, loading points and supplier routes may need to change with the phase.
9. Brief the Site Team
Explain the new arrangement before the phase becomes live.
10. Complete a Final Site Verification
Walk the new phase against the latest drawing before opening it to traffic.
A controlled phase-change process reduces the risk of mixing old and new traffic arrangements.
