1. Check Vehicle Sight Lines

Stand at each vehicle exit and confirm drivers can see approaching traffic, cyclists and pedestrians.

2. Review Pedestrian Corners

Avoid creating sharp blind corners where pedestrians can step directly into a vehicle path.

3. Inspect Gate Locations

Vehicle gates should not open into a location where the hoarding blocks the driver’s view.

4. Keep Signs From Blocking Visibility

Project signs, advertisements and safety boards should not create new blind areas.

5. Review Night Conditions

A location that looks clear during daylight may be difficult to understand at night. Check lighting and reflective elements.

6. Consider Temporary Obstructions

Parked plant, material storage and delivery vehicles can reduce sight distance even if the permanent hoarding is acceptable.

7. Use a Traffic Marshal Where Needed

Where geometry cannot provide safe visibility, define a controlled movement procedure and trained marshal.

8. Recheck After Layout Changes

Repeat the visibility review if gates move, the hoarding line changes or nearby traffic arrangements are modified.
