Heavy Vehicle Road Timings Dubai – When and Where Trucks Are Banned
Dubai’s heavy vehicle road timings restrict when and where trucks, trailers, and heavy commercial vehicles can operate on public roads. These restrictions exist to reduce congestion during peak hours and improve road safety. Contractors who violate these timings face fines and vehicle impoundment. HMJ Contracting helps clients navigate heavy vehicle timing restrictions and obtain exemption permits when needed. Call +971 50 778 9046.
Standard Heavy Vehicle Banned Times in Dubai
The RTA publishes the official list of banned times and roads. Restrictions typically apply during morning rush (6:30 AM – 9:00 AM) and evening rush (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM) on major roads. Some roads have 24-hour bans for heavy vehicles. Times and roads are updated periodically — always check the latest RTA regulations before planning a movement.
Roads Commonly Restricted for Heavy Vehicles
- Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) — peak hour restrictions
- Al Khail Road (E44) — peak hour restrictions
- Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) — sections restricted during peak hours
- Hessa Street, Jumeirah Road, and major urban corridors
- Downtown Dubai, DIFC, and Business Bay internal roads — often 24-hour restrictions
What If Your Project Requires Movement During Banned Times?
An RTA exemption permit allows heavy vehicle movement during restricted hours when the project schedule makes it unavoidable — for example, concrete pours that must happen at specific times, or crane mobilisation that can only occur during daylight. See our heavy vehicle banned times permit page and truck movement restrictions guide.
