A cancelled pour changes more than the concrete booking. Traffic Diversion for Loading/Unloading and Concrete Casting Works also involves pump mobilisation, traffic-control teams and an authorised work window. Use a coordinated cancellation process so one cancelled booking does not leave other activities moving forward.

Identify the actual mobilisation stage

First establish whether vehicles have not yet left, are in transit, or are already at the site. Record who confirmed each status and when. A message sent to the concrete supplier does not confirm that the pump supplier or traffic team has received the same instruction.

The construction team remains responsible for deciding whether the pour can proceed. The traffic coordinator needs a clear decision and the current vehicle positions to manage the resulting public-access implications.

Use a cancellation contact record

Party Confirmation needed
Concrete supplier Dispatch status and affected delivery references
Pump supplier Mobilisation or recovery status
Site team Receiving arrangements and responsible decision-maker
Traffic team Current setup and authorised recovery sequence

Record acknowledgement, not only that a message was sent. This is an internal coordination aid rather than an authority cancellation form.

Review equipment already at the frontage

If equipment or controls are in place, the responsible teams must coordinate removal and public access under the applicable approved arrangement. Cancellation does not justify leaving materials in public space, improvising a waiting area or removing controls before the work zone is ready.

Vehicles already in transit need instructions from the responsible dispatch team using reviewed and lawful arrangements. Avoid directing drivers to wait on an unassessed nearby road.

Treat the replacement date as a new planning input

A later pour date should be checked against permit validity, conditions and the relevant renewal or amendment process. A supplier’s revised booking does not extend the authority permission. Review whether equipment, access or neighbouring activities have changed before reusing the earlier drawing package.

See the loading and casting permit guide and planning repeated pours by date. HMJ can help coordinate the revised traffic and application-support scope.
