Concrete casting traffic planning should show more than the pump and mixer positions. The delivery line between the pump and placing area can interact with a footpath, site entrance or other access route. In Dubai, identify that interface while preparing the proposal so the equipment and traffic teams can review one consistent arrangement.
Trace the complete route
Ask the concrete pumping contractor to identify the intended line route and the technical requirements for its installation. Show where it crosses boundaries or approaches public movement. Mark relevant doors, gates and pedestrian routes on the coordination layout. This early review should reveal whether a pump position that works for vehicle access creates a separate conflict between the pump and the building.
Assign the technical decisions
Line selection, pressure, support, restraint and operating procedures belong with the competent pumping specialists. The traffic coordinator should use their confirmed inputs to assess the public-space interface. Do not invent a crossing detail or assume a small ramp is suitable without the necessary design and review. A diagram intended for traffic coordination is not an engineered pumping system design.
Review access through each phase
Consider installation of the line, active casting, recovery and removal. Different phases may affect different areas. For example, an entrance available before setup may be unavailable during casting. Record how the responsible teams propose to maintain required access or provide an approved alternative. The solution must account for actual users and site conditions, not only the clear space visible on a drawing.
Keep the permit and site layout aligned
Where the proposal affects the public right of way, ask the permit coordinator to check that the line interface is represented in the relevant submission and conditions. If the route changes, review the change before implementation. Avoid treating an approval for the pump’s parking position as evidence that every possible line route has also been reviewed.
Information to provide HMJ
Share the pumping contractor’s proposed route, current photographs, frontage plan, intended work window and access requirements. Identify unresolved technical details and the person responsible for confirming them. HMJ can use these inputs when coordinating traffic diversion and road occupation support for concrete casting. Keep the approved information accessible to the site team and include line removal in the planned handback sequence.
