Review comments on a tower crane erection traffic drawing often involve more than the drawing itself. A revised delivery position may affect the lifting layout, while a changed access route may affect the transport sequence. Use a coordinated response process so the resubmission addresses the actual issue without introducing an inconsistency elsewhere.

Create one comment register

Record each comment as received, the source, drawing reference and responsible owner. Keep an internal proposed action separate from the final response. If a comment is unclear, route the clarification through the appointed coordinator instead of guessing what the reviewer intended. The register should preserve traceability without turning every small change into a separate uncontrolled document.

Obtain the right specialist input

Assign equipment and lifting questions to the competent lifting team, transport questions to the transport provider and public movement questions to the traffic coordinator. The main contractor should coordinate dependencies between them. A response that improves a traffic drawing but uses an unconfirmed crane position is not ready for submission. Establish which technical inputs must be settled first.

Reference the exact change

For each response, identify the drawing revision and the location of the relevant change. Explain what was revised or why supporting clarification is provided. Avoid closing a comment internally simply because a sentence has been added to the response sheet. Check that the plan, notes and related programme all reflect the same proposal.

Review the package as a whole

Compare the updated crane layout, component delivery sequence, work boundary and pedestrian arrangement. Check that superseded dates or positions do not remain in an attachment. Where a proposed change affects scope or occupation duration, ask the permit coordinator to confirm the applicable submission route. The response register does not determine whether the authority will accept a revision.

Control the version released to site

After the relevant approval, ensure the site team receives the applicable permit and approved drawings rather than an intermediate resubmission. Keep the current revision easy to identify and remove superseded operational copies through the project’s document-control process. Send HMJ the review comments, existing submission and confirmed specialist inputs for traffic drawing coordination support. Approval decisions and any additional conditions remain with the competent authority.
