A building’s map pin is useful for finding its reception desk. It may be a poor reference for temporary occupation along a divided road: the proposed work can be on a service road, on the opposite frontage or around a corner. For an RTA ROWPS application, check the actual work location against the drawing before submission.

Distinguish the address from the occupation

Keep the building address in the project record, then mark the area affected by the proposed work. Identify the road or service road, direction of travel, nearest access and a visible landmark. RTA’s temporary occupation service asks the applicant to mark the proposed work location on a map. A pin identifying the client office does not communicate the same information.

Run a three-way check

  • Map: Does the marked point refer to the proposed work side?
  • Drawing: Do the title, orientation and work limits identify that same frontage?
  • Photograph: Can the reviewer match a visible entrance or landmark to the drawing?

For example, a site entrance may be on a service road running parallel to the main carriageway. State which frontage the drawing covers. Do not substitute a general direction such as “near the tower” for a checked location.

If the records disagree

Pause preparation of the location-dependent documents and ask the responsible site contact to confirm the intended work area. Record the corrected source and identify any drawings or booking instructions that used the old reference. If an application has already been submitted, use the applicable official procedure for a correction rather than assuming that changing an internal PDF updates the submission.

Send the marked location, current photo and drawing revision when requesting RTA ROWPS application support. For an equipment booking where the registered address differs from the receiving entrance, see resolving site address and delivery gate differences.
