Multi-unit AC replacement can create a different road occupation pattern from a single lift. Several units may share one crane position, yet removal trucks, incoming equipment and building access do not necessarily follow the same sequence. The traffic plan needs to represent each stage.

Read the main Traffic Diversion for AC Unit Installation or Replacement Dubai guide for the wider service scope.

Define batches around the physical operation

List which units will be removed and delivered in each batch. Identify temporary storage only where it is available and accepted by the responsible team. Do not assume the public footpath can absorb packaging, removed units or an early delivery. Give each phase a clear start condition and receiving area.

Compare one continuous window with separate visits

One visit may reduce repeated mobilisation but require a longer occupation. Several visits may preserve access between phases but repeat setup and recovery. Compare the actual sequence, building constraints and authority conditions before selecting an option. A lower equipment hire total does not necessarily mean a workable road arrangement.

Document what changes between phases

Use a phase table recording the unit group, vehicle position, work boundary, access route and drawing reference. If the crane moves, ask the lifting team for revised setup information. If the boundary changes, coordinate that change with the traffic designer and permit lead before implementation.

Example: the second delivery arrives too early

If the first removed unit still occupies the receiving area, do not send the next truck into an improvised roadside position. Use the agreed call-forward arrangement. This illustrative conflict is resolved through phase readiness, not by assuming every booked vehicle can enter immediately.

Handover each phase

Record the receiving area condition and any outstanding restrictions. Building access should be restored only when the relevant team has confirmed readiness. For the next visit, verify that drawings, dates and supplier instructions remain current. An approval for one phase should not automatically be treated as covering a changed later phase.

Permit coordination and project support

Use the official RTA Right-of-Way utilisation service to check the applicable service requirements. The required approval depends on the actual site and proposed work. RTA and ROWPS references here apply to Dubai; other UAE emirates have their own responsible authorities.

HMJ Contracting can discuss drawings, traffic diversion and permit coordination for your project.
