A crane serving an AC installation may use space normally occupied by parked vehicles or building drop-off traffic. Even when through traffic remains open, parking access and pedestrian movement can change. Identify these effects before suppliers are dispatched.
Read the main Traffic Diversion for AC Unit Installation or Replacement Dubai guide for the wider service scope.
Map parking and access separately
Record the proposed work boundary, affected bays, driveway entrances, kerbs and accessible routes. Distinguish public parking from private building parking. Photograph the approach as well as the proposed setup area; an empty bay in a photograph does not show how motorists reach adjacent spaces.
Confirm who can authorise use of the space
Building consent and public-road permission are separate coordination questions. Do not reserve public bays by placing equipment there without the required authorisation. Give the permit coordinator the precise location and activity so the applicable route can be checked with the responsible authority.
Plan for vehicles already parked
Agree the procedure for an occupied work area before mobilisation. Establish who checks availability and when that decision is communicated to the crane and delivery teams. If the area is unavailable, follow the authorised escalation or rescheduling process. Site staff should not improvise vehicle removal.
Keep drop-off information understandable
Building management should tell visitors which entrance or drop-off point remains available. Check that the alternative route connects to a usable entrance and does not lead through the lifting area. Information notices support coordination but do not replace approved traffic signs or controls.
Check the space before handback
After equipment leaves, review surface condition, remaining materials and access to neighbouring bays. Record issues requiring follow-up before restoring normal use through the agreed procedure. For quotations, identify whether site attendance and parking coordination are included so responsibilities are not left unassigned.
Permit coordination and project support
Use the official RTA Right-of-Way utilisation service to check the applicable service requirements. The required approval depends on the actual site and proposed work. RTA and ROWPS references here apply to Dubai; other UAE emirates have their own responsible authorities.
