Crash Cushion Installation Handover Checklist Dubai
Once a crash cushion has been delivered and installed, the project team should confirm that the system has been handed over in a condition that matches the intended work-zone arrangement. A clear handover record helps separate installation responsibility from later operational damage or site changes.
HMJ Contracting supplies and coordinates crash cushion systems for Dubai road works. Call +971 50 778 9046.
1. Confirm the Correct System Was Installed
Check the delivered unit against the project requirement and equipment record. The product identification, configuration and intended use should match the selected system.
2. Verify Final Position and Alignment
Confirm the installed position against the approved traffic-management arrangement and the actual hazard being protected. Review:
- Approach path.
- Alignment with the barrier or hazard.
- Available clear space.
- Relationship to nearby traffic lanes.
- Access for inspection and maintenance.
For the planning stage, see our Crash Cushion Pre-Installation Site Survey.
3. Check Anchoring or Connection Details
Where the system requires anchoring, connection or support components, verify that the visible installation is complete and consistent with the approved setup and product instructions.
4. Review Visibility
The crash cushion should be visible to approaching traffic as intended by the site arrangement. Check that temporary signs, barriers, lighting or other equipment do not unnecessarily obscure it.
5. Photograph the Completed Installation
Create a simple photo record showing:
- Front approach view.
- Side alignment.
- Connection to the protected hazard or barrier.
- Surrounding work-zone layout.
- Product identification where appropriate.
These photographs become useful baseline evidence if the site changes later.
6. Record Any Outstanding Item
If a minor item still needs correction, do not leave it as a verbal instruction only. Record the issue, responsible person and target completion date.
7. Give the Site Team Inspection Instructions
The team responsible for the work zone should know what to check during routine inspections and what to do if the system is struck or damaged. See our Crash Cushion Inspection Checklist and Post-Impact Response Guide.
8. Keep the Handover File
The file may include:
- Equipment details.
- Installation date.
- Location.
- Photographs.
- Relevant drawing reference.
- Outstanding actions.
- Site contact.
