Crane Erection Lifting Zone Road Interface Checklist Dubai
Crane erection and heavy lifting can affect public roads even when the crane itself is positioned inside the project boundary. The lifting radius, counterweight movement, delivery vehicles or exclusion area may extend toward the road or public Right of Way.
HMJ Contracting supports ROWPS and RTA road closure planning for tower crane and crane erection in Dubai.
1. Mark the Crane Setup Area
Show crane footprint, outriggers and support-vehicle locations.
2. Define the Lifting Radius
Identify the maximum working area relevant to road and pedestrian interfaces.
3. Establish the Exclusion Zone
Keep unrelated vehicles and pedestrians outside the controlled lifting area.
4. Review Public Road Impact
Check whether the operation affects a lane, service road, shoulder, parking area or access route.
5. Review ROWPS Interface
Where work affects the public Right of Way, coordinate drawings and supporting permit information.
6. Assess Road Closure Need
If normal traffic cannot be maintained safely, review the temporary closure or diversion requirement.
7. Protect Pedestrian Movement
Provide a clear temporary pedestrian route where existing access is affected.
8. Coordinate Delivery Vehicles
Prevent crane-support or component vehicles from waiting uncontrolled on the road.
9. Maintain Emergency Access
Keep emergency routes available or provide the project-approved alternative.
10. Verify Before Erection
Complete a final interface inspection before the lifting operation begins.
